Figure 1 – Typical Application – 2A adapter charge current and 500mA or 100mA maximum USB charge currents. A grounded
spare pin in the USB power cable can be used to sense when the 500mA USB current power source is being used. This
application also uses three LED indicators for Power attached, Battery Charging and Battery Full. This configuration also
implements circuitry to lockout battery charging if the battery is less than 0ºC or greater than 60°C.
